What should I look for in a general contractor?
A general contractor should be licensed, bondable, possess necessary insurance forms and have proven experience and a reliable track record. Always ask for references. SoCal Design is a licensed certified general contractor, and we will be happy to provide you with a list of references upon request.
What services does SoCal Design offer?
SoCal Design offers a variety of services including pre-construction consulting, construction management, general construction and design/building. Our services cover everything from construction and remodeling, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, flooring installation, custom closet design and addition and home theater design and installation.
Why do some contractors cost more than others?
Not all contractors produce the same high quality products or offer the the same quality driven services. Also, not all general contractors are licensed or provide the necessary insurance required. At SoCal Design, we only use top-grade materials to ensure longevity and performance, which will help to maximize your return on your investment. Should I hire a contractor for a project if the they do not have general liability insurance?
No, you should not hire an uninsured contractor to do anything at all unless you are willing to fully accept and cover the cost of a loss if anything goes wrong. SoCal Design is insured to protect you from any additional costs or stress that can occur in the event of an accident.
Who will I contact when I have questions?
Frequent communication with you is our top priority. Following your contract execution, we will schedule a pre-construction meeting to discuss scheduling, contact information, logistics and your concerns and preferences. During this meeting, we will also determine the main point of contact for various aspects of your project. However, you may feel free to contact
our office at any time if you have questions that you need answered.
